Tuesday, October 13, 2009 22:59 ok so here goes! bizgram, is a name of a shop in sim lim. but i'm not sure what's the company name that it's under. so this company, owns almost half the shops on level five and six of sim lim including CHANGU MANGU, the um cafe that i'm working in. seeee, that's why i'm working in a cafe, doing stuff like taking orders, operate the coffee machine, make beverages like coffee, cappucino, latte, lipton tea, masala tea etc etc, manage the till, serving, washing, wiping, sweeping, mopping (lucky takyah vacuum haha) what else, count the stock. in general, all i have to do is to manage the shop! but i don't do it alone ah. there's two supervisors, a british indian called jay (burly, talks really really fast but stutters too, man u fan wahlao!) a singaporean indian called jack (tall, slim built but got beer belly, rides a hayabusa no shit!) and my workmate from ITE dover called gayathri! but i call her kaya. we all do. she lives in yishun too so i always bus home with her. so first day was okay... the first few things i learnt from jay the brit was to operate the machine and how to make the coffee. and also what each container contained and stuff like that. and then dah best best belajar, jack with haya (hayabusa) came and found out that we hadn't had our vaccination against diarrhoea yet so we can't serve anything. like imagine if i serve the customer something, then the customer gets diarrhoea, immediately they'll point to our shop then if i don't have the vaccination papers, jialat ah changu mangu. BUT THAT MEANS I'LL NEED TO GO AN INJECTION!!! T_T but see how ah. i have a choice to stay with changu mangu till next monday or i can also request to change outlet. like get posted to an IT-RELATED shop. seeee, ms amrita (another supervisor but she doesn't man the CM unlike J&J) offered me a choice between an IT-related outlet (repair laptop, do admin work, do simple customer relations) or CM. i chose CM cause the IT outlet 1. the indian fella in there look at us (me and kaya) up and down and then in the end he only wanted chinese students -_- (he spoke in hindi but kaya understood him) 2. the phillippine/cambodia/foreigner/alien lady there has a smirk plasted on her face 24/7 even while looking at us two. due due muke mintak kene pump sak. so i guess i'll be staying at the cafe? the kerje lepak, can get free drinks (and food too but the pastry deliveryman m.i.a.) and because the cafe is on the sixth floor, there is not much customers so most of the time i'm sitting down and passing the time away. but the cafe ah, doesn't look like a cafe sia! orange and green walls, bright lights, white tiles, things everywhere and it's more like a mini food court selling coffee instead of food. and of course, WORKING IN A CAFE HAS NO RELATION TO MY IT COURSE! but like i said kerje lepak, the supervisors are okay, can go home at 7 instead of 8 unlike others so why not! AND THIS POST IS SO LONG! i wonder why am i not lazy today haha. maybe because i met dzxyzptlk just now hahahaha wo ai ni hor okay ah goodnight! |
